In 2022, YWCA Saskatoon’s Crisis Shelter & Residence turned away a staggering 4,253 women, youth and children. That’s over 10 women per day and 354 a month. YWCA does not know where they go.

The homelessness crisis in our community already disproportionately affects women and children and the need is only growing. Often facing abuse, mental health struggles, trauma or addiction, these women and their families need safety, shelter, support and healing.

They are in need of hope. That hope is what drives them forward. It’s what drives them to seek help. At YWCA Saskatoon hope is at the heart of everything we do – it’s what motivates us to continue serving women and helping them rebuild their lives. We want to ensure this hope is there when they need it – that a light remains in the darkness.

This overwhelming need in the community was the catalyst for launching our $19 million Hope Lives Here campaign.

It’s the largest capital campaign we have ever undertaken and thanks to community support and the generosity of our donors, we have raised an incredible $17.5 million so far, leaving us just $1.5 million away from our final goal.

As we look to close this funding gap and reach that $19 million finish line, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our donors and to each and everyone of you who continues to support Hope Lives Here – we are so grateful.
