
Cara Bahr
CEO
Cara Bahr is a purpose-driven leader with over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and community impact across the non-profit and financial sectors. Before joining YWCA Saskatoon as CEO, she held leadership roles at a financial institution, where she led community engagement, operations, and risk management initiatives.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Cara brings a unique blend of operational expertise and social purpose to her work. Under her leadership, the YWCA has expanded essential services—including the opening of a 75-bed transitional housing wing—and strengthened its role as a vital support system for women and families.
Cara is also an active voice in advancing equity and social innovation, regularly speaking on panels about non-profit leadership, gender equity, and risk management. She currently serves as Risk Committee Chair on the Board of Affinity Credit Union and has held board roles with United Way of Saskatoon, Saskatoon Industry Education Council, Interval House and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon.
