Trade Journey Employer Panel
Employment & Learning, Trade Journey, YWCA News
Wow what a morning! Sending a big thank you to the employers who joined us for the Trade Journey Employer Panel and Cafe. Shannon, our CEO lead a panel of six employers who so willingly shared their expertise, knowledge and encouragement with the Trade Journey participants. The room was buzzing with good questions and conversations. Great tips and advice. The employers shared what makes a good employee – demonstrates commitment to quality of work, trade, company and community; works well as a member of the team – always willing to help; reliable and dependable; hardworking; possesses a positive attitude; and has a passion for the work and learning.
Thank you to our employer champions – you make our program stronger!

YWCA Saskatoon’s program TRADE JOURNEY is a 16 week program designed to help women transition from minimum wage jobs into the Trades industry as either a Plumber, Electrician or Carpenter by providing 13 weeks classroom and trade training activities, culminating in a 3 week work placement. The Employer Panel and Cafe provide opportunities for participants to gain a better understanding of industry, trades and how to find success in the work place. The Trade Journey Program is funded by the Ministry of Economy, Labour Market Services and United Way of Saskatoon & Area.
