Employment & Learning

In the Employment and Learning Centre at YWCA Saskatoon, we have a Computer Lab that is there to help in Job Searching. With 8 computers and a skilled instructor, most days are broken into two segments.

In the morning, there are computer class for those who are inexperienced with computer, and for others who want to upgrade their skills. We have eight classes, including a very basic Introduction to Computers for those who have not yet gained the skills, one on how to use the Internet and Email, two different levels of both Microsoft Word and Excel (Introduction and Intermediate), PowerPoint and Publisher. Our classes are very gentle and nonjudgmental for those who are new to computers or the Microsoft Office Suite.

During the second half of the day, from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM, the lab is open to job seekers for employment searches and fixing up resumes and cover letters. You can ask questions and seek help from the instructor on style and wording, or applying online.

Come see our Computer Lab some afternoon if you have any more questions, or call the Employment and Learning Centre anytime during working hours at 306-244-7034, ext. 131, and ask for Loretta.
