“It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power.” – Robert T. Kyosaki

So often we say one thing to others and silently tell our self something else entirely. These quiet words can have more power over our life than the loud words we speak to anyone who can hear.  It’s the story in our head.  We believe the words we speak to ourself and give these words more power than the ones we say out loud.  If we want to take our life in a new direction we must the change the story.   This story lays the foundation for actions taken or not taken because its the story we live by.

Job searching can be a time in one’s life when the words we whisper are not positive. Looking for work can be a journey.  Focus on the ONE meaningful task you can handle in the present. Notice the slight, gradual progress you are making. Think positively and be mindful of the story you are telling yourself.

Joining a program that offers employment counselling and ongoing support is one way to gain confidence while job searching. Here at YWCA Employment and Learning our excellent staff empower many job seekers each year as they achieve their goals.
