YWCA Crisis Shelter accepts funds raised by local Shoppers Drug Mart staff teams
SASKATOON, Dec. 21, 2017 – With the combined fundraising efforts of Shoppers Drug Mart, 13 local Saskatoon store teams and their customers, Saskatoon will now have improved access to services and programming supporting women’s whole health in body, mind and spirit. The SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. Growing Women’s Health fundraising campaign announced a major donation today of $37,629.00 for YWCA Saskatoon.
The entire Saskatoon market participated in the SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. Growing Women’s Health campaign, including all local stores: Lakewood Common, Center Mall, Grosvenor Park, Stonebridge, Market Mall, University Heights, Broadway and Taylor, Meads, Canarama, Midtown, Westgate, Kensington, and Hampton Village. The total raised includes donations from customers at all of these stores, as well as a staff fundraising event.
“The well-being of each woman we serve is central to everything we do at YWCA Saskatoon,” said YWCA CEO Shannon Friesen, “We provide holistic wrap-around supports for each woman and her individual needs. This generous corporate donation from the Shoppers team enables our front line staff to continue serving women who rely on our Crisis Shelter and Residence programs here at the YWCA. We are so thankful to all of the Shoppers team members who were involved in the fundraising efforts.”
