Recognizing the Potential of Young Women: CIBC Presents 29 and Under Award
Women of Distinction
At the May 31 Women of Distinction Awards Dinner, CIBC will return as sponsor and presenter of the 29 and Under Award.
Bev Matthies-Wiens is a senior leader with CIBC’s team, and has taken an increasingly significant role in the Women of Distinction Awards® event over many years.
She describes the culture of balance and inclusion at CIBC and why they continue to sponsor the awards: “Women comprise almost 60% of CIBC’s workforce and contribute to the viability and well-being of the communities where they work and live.
“We believe that gender-balanced teams that recognize, include, and leverage the authentic differences men and women bring to the workplace create better business outcomes.
“We also take great pride in playing our part to help young people achieve their full potential, which is why it is our pleasure to sponsor the 29 and Under award category.”
Last year’s 29 and Under Award was given to Devon Fiddler, Founder of SheNative Goods Inc., and this year’s nominees for the award category will be announced on April 7.
The Women of Distinction Awards® Dinner is presented by PotashCorp. The Awards Dinner is the largest annual fundraising event for YWCA Saskatoon community programs, nurturing the well-being of thousands of women and their families.
