Paid On-line Resources to Support your Job Search

In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation your YWCA Saskatoon’s Employment and Learning Centre is closed for in person programs, but will continue with E&L programs that can be offered remotely.

In order to support your job search and to ensure you maintain your job search momentum, the E&L Center will offer you daily job search advice and support.  This will include a number of ideas to support your job search that you can complete from home.

Here are some on – line resources that you can use to strengthen your resume and strengthen your skill set.  NOTE:  These organizations charge for these resources.  Please contact your Employment Counsellor by telephone at (306) 986-2873 or email to discuss possibilities for financial support.

https://www.foodsafety.ca/  The Canadian Institute of Food Safety (CIFS) is a forward-thinking education provider dedicated to improving food safety knowledge and skills.  The Canadian Institute of Food Safety’s official Food Handler Certification Course meets Canada’s legal requirements for food safety training.  CIFS training is nationally recognized, accepted by Health Inspectors and is food safety audit compliant.

https://www.scsaonline.ca/ The Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA) is an industry-funded, membership-based, non-profit organization that provides cost-effective, accessible safety training and advice to employers and employees in the construction industry throughout the province to reduce the human and financial losses associated with injuries.  The SCSA offers the Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT®) program, an interactive, online training course composed of 13 modules, each focused on a different fundamental aspect of worksite safety. This program now includes WHMIS 2015.

https://sk.stjohntraining.ca/first-aid-training/online-first-aid-certification-courses  St. John Ambulance has been ensuring the health, safety and quality of life for Canadians for well over 135 years. St. John Ambulance offers the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art first aid and CPR training programs for the workplace, the home and the community.  Many YWCA clients complete OHS Standard First Aid – Level C CPR Certification.  Please note, upon completion of the online portion of this course, you will need to register for a practical training session

https://industry.tourismsaskatchewan.com/education-and-training/stec-courses-and-workshops Saskatchewan Tourism Education Council (STEC) provides human resource products and services that enable Saskatchewan employers to maintain a highly qualified, professional workforce.  STEC training provides a number of training courses that are recognized by Saskatchewan’s tourism and hospitality industry.  YWCA clients have recently completed STEC courses like: Service Best and Serve It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS).

Your E&L staff will be working remotely and will provide assistance through email and phone services.  Should you have any questions or require assistance in your job search, feel free to contact any of your E&L Staff for support.
