“LOVE My Job” YWCA Staff Stories – Fred’s Story

Fitness on 25th, YWCA News
Fred is a longterm YWCA staff member and personal trainer with Fitness on 25th, and he is well known by many of our fitness members.
In his 20’s, Fred found himself out of shape and overweight. However, he had a positive interaction with a trainer at the time who helped him lose weight and improve his physical health. Fred came to love what he could accomplish in the weight room, especially getting stronger. Now, he likes to share his personal journey to help motivate others to have similar experiences.
Fred enjoys the friendships gained through the personal training process and takes pride in helping our fitness members stay motivated, as he earns their trust and ensures they know he is invested in their success.
One of his favourite stories is a client who was rehabilitating from an injury, who worked with Fred for six months. As a result, she was able to regain the ability and strength she needed to continue to peruse a professional hockey career in Europe.
The diverse work environment he has as a personal trainer is important to Fred, as is the flexible schedules and the great people he meets.
Fred is following his heart and doing what he loves to do. Exercising, lifting weights, and becoming stronger are activities he has great passion for.
Watch for the “LOVE My Job” series of staff stories running this February on YWCA Saskatoon’s website blog and social media channels. We love what we do, and it shows!
