It’s the Spirit of Giving at the YWCA

The heart of the YWCA Saskatoon lies in our community and the women we support.

For many, the holidays are a reminder of the consistent and systemic barriers women and their children face each day.

This year, the YWCA Saskatoon is sharing in ‘The Spirit of Giving,’ by raising funds to continue providing the critical care, programming, and community that the women and children in Saskatoon deserve.

In 2021, the Crisis Shelter & Residence at the YWCA Saskatoon assisted 417 women, youth, and children. Unfortunately, 4,231 people were turned away with nowhere to go, due to no available space. We have no way of knowing where these women and their families go when they are turned away. Many of them leave to spend nights outdoors, many of them go back to violent and precarious living situations.

It’s because of you that we are able to help women and children heal in a warm, safe place.

It’s because of you that we are fostering hope for the better in all our clients and members.

It’s because of you that we are able to lift women up and bring them the peace they deserve.

Cara Bahr, YWCA Saskatoon CEO

The YWCA Saskatoon provides wrap-around services that help women and their families in need, alongside members of our community looking for programming and services such as employment skills, childcare services and fitness classes.

Help us share the love and the gift of giving by donating this holiday season. Your donation provides hope, healing and the support to empower to those in need.
