Inspiring Educators Recognized at the Women of Distinction: Award Presented by Cameco

Women of Distinction

Looking back on 35 years of Women of Distinction Awards®, there have been many strong women recognized for their contributions in Saskatoon and area.

The women celebrated for their contributions as educators stand out among many remarkable women and recognizable names. These are influential change-makers in our community.

Last year’s Women of Distinction Education Award was presented to Dr. Daphne Taras, Dean of Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan, for her work paving the way for women. An influential educator and dynamic presenter, she is also a leading expert in labour relations.

Longstanding Education Award sponsor Cameco will present the Education Award again this year on May 31, 2017. For Cameco’s Director of Corporate Relations, Jonathan Huntington, this awards gala is a highlight in a season of community events, and the women nominated for the education award are inspiring: “Cameco is proud to support educators who inspire us,” he said.

The Women of Distinction Awards® Dinner is presented by PotashCorp. The Awards Dinner is the largest annual fundraising event for YWCA Saskatoon community programs, nurturing the well-being of thousands of women and their families.
