
Joan Borsa to receive Women of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award
Saskatoon, SK—Professor Joan Borsa has been named the 2015 Women of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Borsa is a prominent member of Saskatchewan’s art community and a leading academic in the fields of gender, representation, and cultural studies. Her legacy has established our province’s women artists as vital contributors to prairie culture with growing international recognition.
“With this award, we are delighted to celebrate Joan Borsa for her accomplished career. Joan and each of the nominees we are recognizing are women who inspire and lead, and ultimately make a difference in our larger community” said Barb Macpherson, Executive Director, YWCA Saskatoon.

The YWCA Women of Distinction Awards are recognized nationally as one of the most prestigious awards for women. Since 1982, Saskatoon’s Women of Distinction Awards have honoured hundreds of women for their inspirational leadership and extraordinary contributions to our community.
