This mission statement guides everything we do as an organization as a whole, and each department as a part of that whole. The programs we run and the community partnerships we enter all contribute to this mission statement.
Values and Guiding Principles
- Empowerment of Women
YWCA programs, services, and advocacy contribute to the advancement of women and enhance their physical, social, economic, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Stewardship
Long-term sustainability is necessary for the YWCA to continue to serve women in the community. Good stewardship requires effective board governance, financial viability, asset protection, staff development, and quality programs and services that meet community needs.
- Leadership
The YWCA is part of a worldwide movement that seeks to promote justice and equality. The YWCA’s leadership contributes to healthier individuals, families, and communities. The YWCA is proactive in cultivating partnerships that help to meet its goals and objectives.
- Innovation
The YWCA is innovative in meeting the needs of women and their families, through anticipating and responding to community needs. Flexibility and openness to new ways of doing things helps the YWCA to continually improve its integrated programs and services to meet those needs.

The YWCA is a welcoming and supportive place for all women and their families. Diversity is respected and recognized for its contribution to the YWCA’s unique culture. Affordable programs and services provide exceptional value to the community. All who visit the YWCA enjoy a friendly, compassionate, and safe environment.

The YWCA is accountable to its members, donors and the community through providing excellent services and transparency in reporting. Public trust is also maintained through respecting individuals’ rights to privacy and confidentiality.
