Baby Boxes Arriving at YWCA Saskatoon!

A beloved tradition in Finland for 75 years, “Baby Boxes” have been given to expectant parents around the world, and the program has improved the outcomes for babies’ and families’ health.

Now in Saskatchewan, a company called the Baby Box Co. has introduced the service, with a mission to “benefit families everywhere.”

The Baby Boxes include a firm mattress and fitted sheet, along with essential items and products to help parents care for new babies. Parents are provided with necessities to give their babies a healthy start in life. According to the Baby Box Co., all kits meet or exceed Health Canada standards, and have passed rigorous inspection.

All expectant and new parents with an infant three months of age or younger in Saskatchewan are eligible to receive a free “baby box” from the Baby Box Co.

To receive a your free Baby Box:

  1. Visit the Baby Box event page to reserve a box, and watch for an email confirmation.
  2. Visit the Baby Box University website and register. Please bring this certificate with you in order to pick up your Baby Box.
