Women of Distinction Planning Committee
Our Women of Distinction Planning Committee members are passionate about celebrating the accomplishments and power of women. Many have attended the Women of Distinction Awards in the past and found inspiration in it.
The Women of Distinction Awards Dinner is the major special event fundraiser supporting YWCA Saskatoon. It takes place at the end of May, and the time commitment for committee members includes 8 committee meetings between October and May, plus additional work between meetings. The committee volunteers at 2 evening events, one in April and one in May.
The planning committee reports to the Director of Development and is responsible for promoting nominations from community members, promoting sponsorship and corporate table sales, fundraising through raffle or silent auction, coordinating social media promotions, and volunteering at the event. The following positions are required:
- Nominations chair
- Sponsorship chair
- Raffle and fundraising chair
- Marketing and communications chair
Members of the planning committee are not involved in reviewing and selecting final award recipients.
If applicable, candidates for this committee are encouraged to self-identify as under 30 years of age, 31-50, or over 50; as Indigenous; or as possessing previous volunteer experience.

Social Good Fundraising Volunteers
Are you a do-er who is passionate about making a difference in your community, and likes having fun? We would like to invite you to get involved with YWCA Social Good Fundraising Events.
YWCA Social Good Fundraising Volunteers are responsible for carrying out several small fundraising events throughout the year. Often, creative ideas for events and the leadership and organization come from individuals or organizations out in our community.
For information about holding a Social Good event as a benefit to raise funds for the YWCA, please contact us by email. We will coordinate with you and answer questions you may have about charitable giving, the program areas of greatest need, and using the YWCA brand.
